September Events Reminder

DVD cover for "Age of Stupid"

There are so many important, interesting and varied events coming up over the next two weeks that we felt that this extra email would be worthwhile.

On the 21st September we have an unprecedented chance to prove how much we care about climate change with the largest climate mobilisation in history. There are 3000 events taking place worldwide on the eve of a global emergency climate summit in New York. Our local event is taking place in Bradninch at 11am.

Two events on the 23rd September. Firstly there is the Energy Roadshow taking place at Quickes Kitchen, Newton St Cyres at 6:30pm where you can get free unbiased advice on reducing fuel bills and energy use. Secondly, there is poetry slam with a renewable energy theme taking place at the Bikeshed Theatre, Exeter from 7 to11pm "The Element in the Room" with Matt Harvey.

On the 25th September Crediton Town Council are having an all day drop-in session at the Council Chambers, Market Street from 10am to 7pm about the Crediton Neighbourhood Plan. The Council Steering Group, who will be setting up the plan, will explain the process and how residents can contribute. People will be given the opportunity to ask questions, give views and talk about key issues.

Then on the 27th September we have our regular household waste plastics collection at Peck & Strong's car park in Lords Meadow Industrial Estate from 10am to 12:30pm.

On 28th September there is the regular monthly Sunday Bike Ride. Meet in the Town Square at 11am.

The last event gives you a chance, if you haven't seen it, to see the classic climate change film "The Age of Stupid" on the 1st October at 6:45pm at Petroc College, Tiverton. The film's director Franny Armstrong will be present to answer questions.

Finally, Sustainable Crediton will be having a Christmas meal this year.
