Sustainable Crediton Newsletter Issue 125: June 2021

Welcome All,

Here is our mid-summer June edition of the newletter. You will see it has been mailed differently to usual, following difficulties with our usual tech. This may have resulted in the few people who have opted out of the newsletter receiving it anyway: if so, apologies, we are looking into how this might be resolved.

Devon is looking its very best at the moment, but is all as well as it looks at first sight? A couple of items on hedges and verges ponder that question.

Here in town, the next working party for the People's Park wildlife area will be on Saturday, 3rd July, 10am to 12 pm. Make a note if you would like to pitch in.

There's plenty of other news too, and invitations to give us your feedback, which we always like to receive. If you would like to contribute a more substantial article on a relevant subject close to your heart, let's have that as well!

Best wishes,

John Craythorne

Are our hedges healthy?

When I moved to Devon nearly twenty years ago, it was a delight to behold a landscape still generously endowed with hedgerows: I had arrived from Norfolk, a county of huge arable fields with little by way of hedges at all, in many parts. Our Regular Events section has become very out of date, partly due to the ravages of covid, partly due to my indolence.
