Chill with heavy cloud cover,
dead still. A good turn out, seven in number with three chainsaws.
Tackled a sizeable fallen oak bough, brought down by storm Eleanor at the top of the
valley side. Hazel stools were coppiced, brash was racked, poles
were cross cut, to something approximating standard ... | |
Five of us started work on a mild overcast morning. Alan manned
the chainsaw whilst Pete, John, Ian and Charles cleared up after
him. Much hazel coppicing was achieved through good teamwork.
We will continue to coppice in the woods at Moor Farm.
