Record plastic collection, helped by extra bags from Cheriton Fitzpaine and Sandford

Anne collected a 'Recycle Devon' award- runner up recycling hero - Congratulations!

Hedgerow Group- more successful action days

First Cycling Sunday- successful with 10 participants in spite of weather

Back to Future Event - follow up

  • All notes to be sent to participants, who will be asked if they want to be kept informed or involved in any particular aspects.
  • Leaders of 'Open Space' groups to be asked if they want to act as 'ambassadors' for their particular project.
  • Participants who respond positively to be referred to 'ambassadors' who we hope will enthuse them to help with projects in some way.
  • Action Groups to identify areas under their remit and perhaps new things that they want to take on.
  • Core Group to look at areas not covered by these activities to see if anything can be done.

We need to budget for Sarah updating the website next year [£400 grant application?] and perhaps also for work done more immediately.

Future Events

AGM:  Agreed that fracking talk should be given before formal AGM and that we should provide snack refreshments between the two; waiting to hear from Simon Tytherleigh before fixing date; Boniface booked provisionally for 26 or 27 March. 

Hustings: No response from QE; Exeter organising hustings - we could perhaps do one at a different time on the same day. ACTION - Gerald to liaise with Exeter.

Climate Week Challenge. We have registered for this with Gerald as contact

Uffculme Green Day. Agreed that we couldn't take part but would advertise in newsletter.

Reports from Groups

Tree group no longer functioning

Energy - thermal imaging going ahead with 16 households; working on Community energy Company with various meetings/visits and public meeting being planned

Food - working on Seed Share 22 Feb; would like other action groups to take responsibility for some Sus Cred stalls at markets, as last year

Transport- leaflet re cycling around Crediton being prepared; agreed that SC colour could be used

Anne is preparing accounts for auditing before AGM

Local Plan Review - Charles will send special email re this and Seed Share; Gerald to compose text to encourage our members to respond; consultation Crediton Council Offices 15/2; responses by 24 March, can be done on line
