Creedy Valley - an update

17 June 2016

Save the Creedy Valley!

A public meeting was held at Sandford Parish Hall on May 23rd by the Creedy Valley Protection Group (CVPG). An update was provided as to developments so far with Gleeson's, the developers. There was discussion on the traffic issues and flooding risk of the site among others. A promotional video has just been made to show the beauty of the proposed development site, which can be seen here

Cllr Margaret Squires, (DCC and MDDC) explained why the proposed site (formerly known as Pedlarspool) is now being looked at for development.

A planning committee meeting is to be held in Sandford (date not yet known) and Cllr Judi Binks (Sandford and Creedy) encouraged everyone to attend. She also encouraged people to relate any objections to the Local Plan which defines MDDC's future plans.

People are requested to write a letter to the MDDC planning officer to ask for an Environmental Impact Assessment as it was felt one was needed, but not being done.

A fighting fund has been set up, as donations are urgently needed to help fight this campaign in order to engage experts and consultants. If you are able to support the campaign in this way details can be found in the letter here from CVPG.

Details for joining the CVPG can be found on their Facebook Page.

You can access various relevant planning documents pertaining to Pedlarspool from Cllr Judi Bink's website.
