Sustainable Crediton Core Group 7 May 2020

Note of meeting, 7 May 2020, 7.30pm (on line)

Present: Dee Ross, Esther Mann, John Craythorne.

1. In view of pandemic lock down, agreed to defer AGM until it is viable to hold a public event again. Date to be fixed as and when this may be.

2. Green New Deal UK. Dee referred to recent email form Madeleine Greenhalgh. Agreed, Dee to reply to say in principle we are interested and to seek further information.

3. Crediton Heart Project. Website is being launched. We would like to have some input. Dee to let them know.

4. How to maintain some kind of presence / profile whilst lockdown persists. Possibly articles in the paper etc. John to consider.

5. Ideas for action in the future. Possible relaunch with the delayed AGM / open event / guest speaker / facilitator. Rob Hoskins? Will all consider further.

6. Pollinator project. We have the TC's grant money to use. It is understood that this is paused due to current circumstances.

Dee will check with MDDC for further sites for us to manage, also the lease needs finalising.

Belle Parade site needs some maintenance. Esther and John both prepared to work alone there and ensure social distancing is maintained.

There is a bit of land in front of the Spurways Almshouses on Park Street, which is neglected and in need of tlc. Dee will contact the trustees and see if they would like us to manage it.

7. Town Council meetings are to re-start on line. Dee will check arrangements for Sustainability Sub Committee and let Core Group know. We should be able to join remotely.

8. Possible adverts on SusCred website. Agreed we could carry these for appropriate organisations and businesses and it would be an opportunity to generate a bit of income. Dee to send John a link to what is already there.

9. Esther has had details from CAG about a re-use conference (on line). She will see if anyone from WAG wants to attend, or may do so herself.

10. John reported that Caroline Romijn has offered to take on secretary role. All agreed to accept!

Meeting closed at 8.10pm prompt. Further meeting to be scheduled, and big thanks to Esther for getting us organised to meet on line!
