We had an amazing turnout for swift expert Edward Jackson's talk at the Crediton Congregational Church on 14 March.  Over 100 people listened to Edward sharing a good deal of information on swifts who will shortly be arriving for the summer in this country, having spent the winter in Africa.  We learnt the differences between swifts, swallows and house martins and were amazed by their flying habits.

Sadly their numbers are declining and they are now an endangered species. If you would like to know more, have a swift box installed or help monitor the swift population there is more info at swift-conservation.org and Action for Swifts.

Edward will run more swift talks on 4 July in Crediton so look at our What's On page for that.  To report swift activity or buy a swift box contact Edward on creditonswifts@gmail.com.
