Review of Crediton Forage Walk

Newcombes Park, Crediton GoogleMap

Review: Herbalist Helen from Tiverton guided about 20 interested people on a Foraging Walk around Newcombes Park. We learned lots about all sorts of plants and trees, most memorable were the Mahuna Berries near the War Memorial. We hope to have another Foraging Walk in the Autumn.

What can you eat for free in Crediton? Ever wondered which flowers, shrubs and trees were edible, which plants were medicinal?

Come and find out on a Forage Walk in Newcombes Park with the Sustainable Crediton Food Group on Monday May 12th at 7pm.

The walk will be led by Helen Kearney, a medical herbalist (BSc) and member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH). Her practice is based at Reapers Wholefoods in Tiverton and she teaches courses on preparing herbal medicine and natural toiletries at Beyond Bushcraft, the outdoor adventure specialists.

Helen's background in teaching permaculture led to an interest in herbalism and Helen is keen for as many people as possible to learn about the many uses for common plants that many of us call weeds!

Meet at the War Memorial at 7pm.

Please bring a drink and snack to share afterwards

No charge, but donations for Sustainable Creditons funds much appreciated.
