Coppicing at Morchard Bishop. Brilliant sunshine with clear blue skies. Lakes of mist in valleys and the rolling Devon winter landscape obliquely lit, achingly beautiful. We had an easy day of it, clearing, cross-cutting and stacking, We tidied a dead fallen oak from across a path, with some excitement and hilarity. Wendy the wood owner dropped by with hot mulled apple juice and mince pies to thank us for our work. We then retired to The London Inn Orchard Bishop, it was closed so we moved on to The Devonshire Dumpling for a celebratory pint.

We will continue to coppice in the woods at Moor Farm.
