Review of Woodland and Hedgerow Work Party 9/2018

 to

Moor Farm, Near Morchard Bishop EX17 6RX GoogleMap

Frosty start, still, with a clear blue sky. A good turn out of eight in number, four chainsaws and four brash rack builders. We all enjoyed the cool fresh air and soon warmed up. We agreed with the forest owner a new area to work. The idea is to create light for the woodland floor by removing brambles, laying a hedge along the fence line using the existing hazel stools and coppicing within the area. There is lots of good wood for coppicing, a lot of bramble and thorn to clear and two hundred metres of new hedge to create from old stools. fantastic!!! We should be finished by 2pm especially after seeing the vast extent of bramble clearance done by Pete...

We will continue to coppice in the woods at Moor Farm.
