News from Councillor Elizabeth Wainwright, Mid Devon District Council cabinet member for climate change:

'MDDC has approved the first version of its climate action plan. It contains actions that will move MDDC towards net zero carbon emissions, as well as actions that will enable the wider community to do so. These actions include training for members and officers; improving the energy efficiency of council houses; overhauling our procurement practices; creating an active travel plan, and more. MDDC will be launching a dedicated climate website to share plans, resources and opportunities, and is soon to hire a senior climate officer to develop and extend our plans.'
