Devon Car Free Day

Devon GoogleMap

Can we all use public transport for the day or at least arrange to car share?

The aim of the day is to get people to leave their cars at home, explore other options of getting to work and to reduce their carbon footprint. Commuters have been very creative in previous years, using tandems, space-hoppers, hobby-horses, wheel-barrows, stilts, wheelie bins, rowing boats, horses, kayaks, skateboards and piggy backs to get to work. In 2007 people taking part in the Devon Car Free Day challenge featured on the regional television news.

It may not be possible for everyone to go without their car on 22nd September so car sharing is another option where people can at least reduce the number of cars on our roads  by joining Car Share Devon.

Can you spend the day car free?
