Co-Cars launches Co-Bikes

Co-Cars are going to launch e-bikes for hire early next year!

One of the first hire-as-you-ride e-bike services in the country

Through this innovative scheme, members will be able to hire ultra-cool, battery-assisted e-bikes by the hour, from dedicated hubs at/in Exeter St. Davids railway station, central Exeter, the University of Exeter, Science Park, Devon County Hall, Digby & Sowton and the Dawlish Warren tourism information centre. There will be 23 bikes available initially, but more will be added as the scheme grows.

How the scheme will work

Click - swipe - Ride - Its easy to use, click - simply book line or from your smartphone or at the docking station. Swipe - scan a QR code using the combined Co-bikes / Co-cars smart phone app, or swipe the smart membership card, which both unlocks the e-Bike and begins transmitting the travel information direct to their account, Ride - of on your journey. Or not a member simply turn up and book directly from the touch-and-pay terminals using a credit card.

The e-Bike

The e-bike, has a Dutch-style frame with a 250w Pedelec middle motor on the crank, integrated lights, comfort seat, on-board computer, front carrier, front suspension, disc brakes, integrated locking system and a smart cable lock which can be used to secure the bikes at any location. The adjustable power setting on the handlebar allows you to get the extra electric power you need to cycle faster or for longer, depending on the journey distance and hills. The dedicated docking bays across Exeter provide charging into the frame, as well as secure, electronic locking.
