McDonalds are seeking planning consent to build a drive through restaurant on Joseph Locke Way, near Mole Avon.

Our concerns with this is that by definition, this is designed to generate car useage in order to access the restaurant. This is contrary to Mid Devon Council's commitment to tackling the climate emergency. It is our view that drive through restaurants should no longer receive planning consent.

It will also add to traffic through the town centre with resultant implications for road safety, air quality and public health.
