Waste Plastics Collections Return

17 December 2012

Plastics Collections will return to Crediton in the New Year.

Sustainable Crediton are delighted to announce that a new home has been found for their popular waste household plastic collections that formerly took place at Morrisons.

The next collection will take place on Saturday January 26th from 10am to 12.30pm in the car park of Peck and  Strong on Lords Meadow Estate and next door but one to Eakers.

Paula Mossman facilitator of  the Waste Action Group of Sustainable Crediton said: 'We send our sincere thanks to John Peck for allowing us to use Peck & Strong's car park to  continue our waste plastic collections. It is a lovely big space with  plenty of parking and is easy to find as it is just up the hill from the Leisure Centre.'

Anne Tucker who has been organising the popular events since they began commented; 'Christmas is a time when people buy special food that may have lots of additional plastic packaging. For example the inner plastic packaging found in boxes of chocolates and biscuits is all recyclable. And all those big plastic sweet tins can also be recycled. We would urge everyone to save up all their clean household plastics from now until January 26th and bring them all along. The more plastic packaging we can save from landfill at this time of year the better.'
