Did you know used coffee grounds can keep slugs at bay?

Spring will be on the horizon soon and the slugs are already appearing as it has been such a mild winter so far!

Ashtons coffee shop in the Town Square Crediton are once again offering the coffee grounds from their coffee machine to anyone who would like to take them away. They make a good slug deterrent if put in a continuous circle around the base of young or tender plants.

Just take a container into Ashtons and ask for some used coffee grounds, in readiness for the start of the growing season.
