We had a wonderful time at the EcoCrafternoon on Saturday
29th November. Nearly 150 people came along and it
was a social event with so much going on - lots of stalls and
workshops and delicious refreshments. Lots of people took
home beautiful Christmas wreaths, goodies from stalls and spare
fabric/haberdashery donated by locals. From our feedback forms
people rated it Excellent, loved the atmosphere and would
definitely come again. Smiles all round!
We would especially like to thank Community Action Groups Devon, without whose
generous grant support this event could not have been staged.
A big thank you as well to our wonderful volunteers who made
this day possible and worked really hard on the day. Take a
look at the slideshow to see some photos from the day itself.
Following on from
Sustainable Crediton's collaboration with Significant Seams to
present the 2025 Ecocrafternoon, Significant Seams, The Bookery and
Turning Tides are pleased to announce funding has been confirmed
for a collaborative winter programme of historically-rich and
environmentally- sensitive craft workshops inspired by Dr James
Fox's new book Craftland and the EcoCrafternoon programme. Mid
Devon District Council has funded the project from the Love Your
Town Centre, Creative Communities Scheme.
EcoCraftland Crediton will feature 10 events by a range of
practitioners to share know-how and reveal connections to our local
ecosystem - and make new connections between people. Further
details may be found on the Significant Seams
website.
The Bookery will host most of the events in their community
extension of the community bookshop that is known locally as the
Hub. They have subcontracted Significant Seams to produce the
programme. The Turning Tides Project and Significant Seams are
together developing equal access coaching support as part of the
project.
