Sustainable Crediton Newsletter Issue 65

As the end of 2015 is approaching rapidly, our thoughts naturally turn to seasonal celebrations.

I hope you managed to spot Sustainable Crediton's Christmas Tree at the Christmas Tree Festival in Holy Cross Church. Our tree had decorations made during the Crediton Climate Challenge and so was a reminder of the part all of us must play in tackling climate change.

The Paris climate change conference is around half way through now, and we sincerely hope that a strong binding agreement to limit climate change to under 2 degrees can be delivered. Crediton was one of about 2500 places in the world to hold an event in support of the Paris talks. If you didn't manage to make it to the Town Square on the 28th November, do take a look at Crediton Climate Challenge webpage where there is a slide show of photos, a file of pledges made by 28 businesses and organisations, the words from three of the poems read by Ian Beech and a write-up of the event.

Thinking about Christmas shopping, please support our local small businesses in Crediton including Crediton Community Bookshop and your local village shops.

We are already organising some great events for 2016 including a meeting of the Pig Club on the 18th January and the annual Seed Share also on the 20th February.

The Sustainable Crediton Core Group would like to wish everyone reading this a wonderful festive season.
