Sustainable Crediton newsletter issue 128, September 2021

Welcome!

Summer is winding down, but Sustainable Crediton is really busy. Read about our two big upcoming events; the Green Fair in the Square on 25th September and our post lockdown relaunch and AGM at the Boniface Centre on 2nd October.

We will be at full stretch organising and setting up for these two days. We could especially do with some help in setting up and taking down in the Square on 25th September. If you can lend a hand, drop us an email, or just turn up on the day from 9am if you find yourself free.

These events feel quite pivotal for us, being at a point where we really do need more members to come forward and take an active role in Sustainable Crediton. So have a think about it, then do it!

I'm pleased to publish an interesting piece about the water quality of our local river system and how volunteers can take part in monitoring and reporting on it. Thanks to Sue Rowell, a new contributer, for this. Sue says she is happy to take anyone out for a sampling demo if they would like. If you want to take up this offer, email us and we will pass on your details to Sue.

Is there an issue you feel especially passionate about? If so, write and tell us so we can include in a future newsletter.

Best wishes all,

John Craythorne, for Sustainable Crediton

It was with great sadness that we learned of the recent death of John Ross, who until very recently was Sustainable Crediton's representative on the Town Council. What's happening with our rivers?

One of the things many of us have done over this last year is spend more time enjoying nature in our local areas. Some of us might be lucky enough to have a river nearby to walk along and enjoy. You might even have seen some wonderful wildlife; Kingfisher or perhaps an Otter if you have been very f ...

Who wants a shiny, up to date website?

Me, for one! If you take a look at our home page, you will see some rather tired and out of date content, along with more topical items. As I add new content to the website, this automatically updates the home page. The problem we have is that new content is not added evenly across all sections o ...
