2008

In 2008 we set out to encourage people to plant fruit trees in their gardens. We advertised this through the Crediton Courier and left leaflets in the library and council offices. Through a grant applied for by Crediton Climate Action from DCC Locality Fund, we were able to offer apple, pear and plum trees cheaply. Over 80 trees were bought, our supplier being Adams Apples, who offered us a reduction for a large order. Although this was a one-off project, we continue to encourage people to plant fruit trees and to raise awareness of the vulnerability of old orchards.

Tree-Planting Week

We are intending to have leafleted Crediton and invited anyone with any garden space to plant in their garden (apple,plum,nut,cherry,pear) and are hoping enough people will express interest that we can bulk buy at low cost.
