Arrangements for recycling at Food Festival 13th/14th
June:
Jill has
laminated signs and other equpment. MDDC to deliver buns on
12/06
Action -
Paula to bring sticky labels and buckets to wash glass and plastic
that is not deeply contaminated. Also to contact Michael and John
to ask for their help and to email all helpers with instructions on
what they need for the event.
All
food waste and cardboard to go into one sack as compostable
material. At end all bags to be labelled.
3) Emma
Croft from Reuse Project:
Emma gave
details of how this project was working- 4 strands-running
workshops, reuse forum, reuse kits and a reuse, recycle
directory. The group
gave her information about the pop up shop and previous clothes
swaps.Emma gave info about jumble sale trails.
Action -
Charles to put Emma on the SC website circulation list and to email
her the give and take manual for Emma to promote to other
groups.

Emma to send Esther a link to a survey on the Recycle Devon website
and Esther to send to all for completion

All to send Emma list of organisations for her reuse/repair
website. Paula to send list for all to add to.

4) Project
with Refurnish:
Agreed
will do a give and take event for 3 days, Thurs, Fri, Sat. twice a
year. Have now had the ok from Kate at Refurnish. Ist date to be
either 21/10 to 24/10 or 28/10 to 31/10.
Action -
Charles to contact Kate to arrange a meeting asap at 5
pm.
5) Plastic
Recycling:
Agreed to
discuss further details of an ending strategy at next meeting as
have agreed that the last plastic collection wil be in July. The
group want to support MDDC's collection. Agreed to write 2 articles
for the Courier when we end the collections, one about what we have
achieved and the other explaining how the council are operating the
new system and how the public can help.
