Sustainable Crediton Newsletter Issue 40

The Bishop of Crediton with 'loan sharks'

With Autumn leaves starting to fall, welcome to the November Sustainable Crediton Newsletter.

There are lots of ways to be involved this month with our Waste, Food, Hedgerow and Transport Groups all having events or meetings to which all are welcome. Just click on the event in the diary below and make contact with the organiser noted on the event page.

This Saturday 2nd November is the final waste plastics collection of the year at 10am Peck & Strong's car park in Lords Meadow Industrial Estate.

As trailed in last month's newsletter, "Fracking: Golden Goose or Dead Duck", Simon Tytherleigh's timely talk on this fraught subject takes place on the 28th November in the Boniface Centre at 7:30 pm. With energy, Hinkley C and fracking all front page news, this should be a fascinating debate with actions for all of us to take away.

With less than two months to Christmas, one of our supporters Claire Duthie, has offered to organise a Christmas lunch at Il Casita. There is a choice of menu and a choice of five dates. A minimum of eight people are required to complete a booking. If you would like to join in, please contact Claire either by email or by the Sustainable Crediton Facebook thread on this topic. Lets remember that creating a sustainable and resilient community is as much about enjoying ourselves as it is about tackling the serious issues of our times.

best wishes
