Sustainable Crediton Newsletter Issue 42

Extracts from the 2014 Vision for Crediton leaflet

Happy New Year 2014 to all Sustainable Crediton Supporters !

Isn't it amazing that Sustainable Crediton is seven years old in 2014. Seven years of practical work to make Crediton - and Mid Devon - more fit for a sustainable future, a place where 'Crediton's people are healthy, enjoy a good quality of life and have fun', as the manifesto we created in 2009 put it.

Which of the ambitions we set for ourselves then have we achieved and what do we want to do next? Come and help us celebrate our past, plan our future and enjoy a sociable meal on 25 January at the Boniface Centre from 10am to 2pm. Go here to find out more, and please put the date in your diary now. To allow us to plan the food, please can you email Charles Mossman by the 18th January to book your place. If you would like to have lunch at this event there will be a small charge of £3 as a contribution to the food costs.

Finally do check out the What's On listings this month as our Waste, Food, Energy, Hearts & Minds and Transport Groups all have meetings or events including the first plastics collection of 2014 on the 11th January and a cycle ride on the 26th January complete with lunch at the Beer Engine.

“Community is woven from gifts, which is ultimately why poor people often have stronger communities than rich people. If you are financially independent, then you really don't depend on your neighbors for anything. You can just pay someone to do it.”
